      The Hamburg based engineering & design company HeavyLift@Sea presents the advanced Floating Foundation Installation Vessel FFI 1700 suitable for deep water installation of large monopiles, jackets and tripods.
      With the dimensions of 165m length and 43,5m width the purpose-built FFI 1700 provides a large 130m long, unobstructed, high strength working deck for stowing 4 x XL-Monopiles up to 100m length, 10m diameter and 1500t weight. Additional cargo, such as transition pieces, towers etc. is safeguarded on deck. Grouting equipment is stowed below deck. The deadweight of the FFI 1700 is 14.500t.

      The FFI 1700 is designed for optimal sea going capabilities during transit and heavy lift installation work. The speed of more than 13 knots is achieved by a diesel-electric propulsion system consisting of three (3) main gensets of 5,000 kW, three (3) auxiliary diesel engines of 595 kW and three (3) Azimuth-Thrusters of 3500 kW each.       HeavyLift@Sea GmbH was assigned by Deutsche Oel & Gas AG with the Project Management of planning and installing the first new offshore natural gas production platform in Alaska's Cook Inlet since 2000. The project involved installing a monopod platform, laying a subsea pipeline over a distance of 24 km and accomplishing the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) to connect the onshore facility to the pipeline on the seabed.

The vessel may sail with partly or completely opened hatch on a reduced draught and can thus accommodate bulky cargoes on the tank top. The deckhouse is arranged forward to allow for a large, unobstructed deck space. Cargoes may protrude over the stern. The vessel is suited for carriage of containers and grain.

    • FLEXIBLE OFFSHORE JACKUP SERVICE & MAINTENCE VESSEL

      The vessel is designed for supply and maintenance works of wind energy plants offshore. Therefore it is a self propelled unit with DP-2 capability. For crane work an offshore heavy-lift crane with a capacity of 400 to is arranged at the portside aft. To ensure safe crane operation during installation the vessel is equipped with a high performance, double acting jacking system with four (4) tubular legs. The jacking unit of the aft leg on port side is located inside the crane foundation.

      The vessel is able to maintain wind energy plants consisting of nacelle, hub and blades. In jacked up condition the vessel is a stable working platform for safe operation of the crane and the deck load. The crane can also be operated with full load in floating condition so that jacking in the harbor is not necessary. Therefore the vessel has a high performing ballast system also.

    • SPECIAL LIFTING DEVICE FOR TRAINS

      The specialists of HeavyLift@Sea designed a dedicated lifting tool for the transport of six trains. Each train consisted of two parts which were connected by a hinge. Main challenge was to control the movement of that hinge. Each train has a weight of abt. 70t and a length of abt. 35m. Because of the length and the hinge, a special connection-device for two identical spreader beams was designed and delivered by HeavyLift@Sea.

      Additional lifting frames for the trains were also designed and delivered by HeavyLift@Sea. All the equipment is classified by Lloyd's Register (LR). The whole job from first enquiry until loading of the trains was done in the very short time of three weeks. The lifting job itself was done by one of the the world leading Heavy Lift Ships of company SAL-Heavylift.
